This focused issue is guest edited by Dr. Shariq Khoja from Tech4Life Enterprises, Canada and Dr. Hammad Durrani from Aga Khan University, Pakistan.

The articles included in this focused issue highlight the use of innovative solutions in communities and health organizations in remote parts of the world. The articles demonstrate partnerships between health and technology related organizations to overcome barriers of literacy, bandwidth and relevance, thus improving adoption of these solutions with all types of users. The articles also provide evidence of improvement in health systems and the health of targeted populations.
