On the eve of our second anniversary, we are excited to announce that mHealth has been officially accepted for inclusion in PubMed Central (PMC) (Figure 1). Inclusion in this extensive biomedical digital database and search engine ensures that publications from mHealth will be exposed to more readers and experts. All previously published content on mHealth will be retrievable on PubMed within 1-2 months. mHealth would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the enthusiastic and vigorous support and contributions from our editorial board members, guest editors, reviewers, authors and readers.
As an open access and peer-reviewed e-journal, mHealth has made significant progress since its launch in March 2015. During the past two years, we have had 39 members around the world join the editorial board (Figure 2) and published 74 original articles (Figure 3). Impressively, our website page views have been increasing significantly in these past two years, reaching 3,248 views in February 2017 (Figure 4).
Together with our board members, guest editors and authors, the editorial team of mHealth aims to develop the journal into a rigorous platform and capture the imagination of doctors, patients, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Being indexed in PubMed/PMC is an important step forward in achieving this goal. We look forward to working with our friends to take the journal to the next level in 2017 and beyond.
